Demand Gateway
The Demand GatewayTM connects hotel systems to travel distributors around the world, empowering both sides to streamline operations and unlock their full revenue potential.
Through OTA-compliant XML interfaces, the Demand Gateway enables the transfer of data and application of business rules for rates, availability, and reservations data between hotel property management, central reservation, or revenue management systems to distributor systems regardless of the type or age of the technology.
Demand Gateway Service Components
In addition to the Gateway’s core Connectivity ManagerTM service component, customers may choose to add our Rate & Availability ManagerTM, Quote ManagerTM, or Content ManagerTM components.
- The Connectivity Manager gives hotels a single point-of-control to manage distribution and translation of their product information to each of their distribution channels. Thus, it is the core component of the Demand Gateway. All other components depend on this connectivity. Basically, the Connectivity Manager provides communication interfacing between the Demand Gateway and supplier PMS, CRS, or RMS systems as well as between the Demand Gateway and online distribution systems such as GDS, Internet travel agencies, wholesalers, and tour operators. The Connectivity Manager also addresses and manages the messaging and business logic discrepancies inherent to connecting multiple supplier systems to multiple distribution systems.
- The Rate & Availability Manager provides hotels the necessary tools to stage and manage their products and enables distributors to access inventory rate, availability, and other product data, create sophisticated packages, and manage contracted allotments in real-time. Other product data includes rate logical sales policies relative to brand, property, and rate-plan or room-type levels. Maintenance can be handled manually via the Demand Gateway’s Web-accessible user interface, or optimally via an automated, electronic feed from the property’s PMS, CRS, or RMS system using the Connectivity Manager. Ultimately, the Rate & Availability Manager allows hotels to create, maintain, and deploy revenue management tactics over all or a subset of their products hosted in the Demand Gateway.
- The Quote Manager allows hotels to manage extremely high volumes of rate and availability inquiries without burdening their own internal systems. It provides hotels an alternate method of handling the exponential increase in rate and availability shopping inquiries generated by the ever-increasing variety of distribution channels. The Quote Manager effectively provides hotels a pressure release valve against the high volume of inquiries without exposing their PMS or CRS to these potentially harmful high processing demands.
- The Content Manager provides hotels the tools necessary to stage and manage their property information—full contact data, amenities, attributes, property descriptions, images, room type descriptions—within the Demand Gateway.
